The 4th Annual Tribute to the U.S. Coast Guard in Our Nation's Capital
June 10, 2008 at the National Building Museum
The fourth annual tribute to the Coast Guard was another spectacular event at the National Building Museum. President George W. Bush was the Honorary Chair and President George H.W. Bush served as Honorary Co-Chair of the event.
Admiral Loy served as Master of Ceremonies and Admiral Mullen and Admiral Thad Allen spoke during the evening to recognize all the members of the Coast Guard who have served our country.
As guests passed through the doors to the National Building Museum, they were transported onto a vessel at sea.
Shades of blue created a dramatic stage for the event.
Silver and blue contrasted beautifully on the tables.
White roses played beautifully into the blue and silver contrast.
Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with Corrine Kosar and Admiral Thad Allen at the reception before the dinner.
Models of Coast Guard equipment decorated the reception area.
One of the focal points of the reception was a stunning mirrored center bar.
An airy curtain that had separated the reception from the main room was pulled back to dramatic fanfare to announce the commencement of dinner.
