The 20th Annual Children's Inn at NIH Gala

June 25, 2008 at the National Building Museum

On June 25, 2008, The Children's Inn at NIH celebrated their 20th Annual Gala. Debbie Dingell was the guest of honor for the evening, and was recognized for her years of service to The Inn.

Mrs. Dingell has worked with The Inn since its inception. She has worked to obtain support from Members of Congress, corporate partnerships and her many friends in DC.

Without the efforts of Mrs. Dingell, The Inn would not be as accomplished as it is today. The evening featured a video tribute to Mrs. Dingell and a surprise performance from renowned political satirist Mark Russell.

The National Building Museum was draped in gold, black and blue to play into the colors of The Inn.  Yellow stars accented some of the tables.

Gorgeous centerpieces of yellow roses accented the tables and served as a beautiful contrast to the black and white settings.

Shimmery jet-black plates stood in contrast to the airy, white table coverings creating a dramatic setting.

Mangotinis were served during the reception.  Each cocktail was garnished with star fruit to create a fanciful, summer drink.
