The 19th Annual Children's Inn at NIH

Gala Reception

October 10, 2007 at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Hall of Flags

The theme of the 19th Annual Children's Inn at NIH Gala Reception was “What’s In the Bag.”  Members of Congress and other notable DC community members donated handbags.  Various gifts ranging from tickets to The Daily Show to a DVD player to gift certificates to McCormick & Schmick’s.  Clues were given as to the secret surprises in each bag, which made the bidding process that much more exciting.

The bags brilliantly displayed against a lit background.  Throughout the reception guests were invited to bid on handbags although they were unable to look inside to view the surprises.

Keeping with the theme of "What's in the Bag" gorgeous flowers sprung out of handbags and served as the centerpieces of the evening.

The starry tablecloths helped set the mood for a sophisticated evening.

The Hall of Flags in the Chamber of Commerce served as the setting for this event.
